Drinking About...

2016 to 2023

Drinking About... explores the biggest issues of our era and the mysteries of our past. When the world feels particularly twisted, it helps to have a couple of shots before diving down the rabbit hole. Each episode, we pick an issue and drink to the bottom of it with a mix of guests: the world's greatest minds, lovable scamps, academics, musicians, people who think they know things, and people who know they know nothing. We ply them with fine spirits and reach for something like truth. Our motto is "In vino veritas"—in wine, truth. Like our ancient forebearers, we pour the wine and loose the tongue.

The show began as an experiment in 2016 as a response to the chaos of the election season. We started with Drinking About Politics in 360-degree video, then moved to Drinking About Conspiracies. From these experiments, we learned that the audience for a 360-degree video podcast was limited, and converting that footage to 2D proved impractical.

Next came Drinking About Sex, co-hosted with a dominatrix named Alice. We got drunk and talked about sex. The show was eventually banned by YouTube, but the audio remains available on Spotify.
