Just The Factoids

2014 to 2020

Twitter was a new at the time, and social media was just starting to becoming ubiquitous. Inspired by Jenny Holzer—a postmodern artist who uses text as her medium—I decided to explore Twitter as an artistic platform. I was also influenced by the late L. M. Boyd, whose column Boyd's Factoids in a local newspaper published counterintuitive facts.

For several years, I tweeted a new factoid daily. Initially I posted manually; later I used an online buffer to automate the schedule. I made memes to post on Instagram and set up a tumblr. I also attempted to sell T-shirts with facts and hired a developer to build a website.
