Just The Factoids
Twitter was relatively new at the time and social media was starting to becoming ubiquitous. Inspired by Jenny Holzer, a postmodern artist who uses text as her medium, I decided to see if I could use Twitter as an artistic medium. I was also inspired by the late great L. M. Boyd who had a column Boyd’s Factoids in a local newspaper where he would publish interesting counterintuitive facts.
For a number of years, I tweeted a new Factoid every day. At first by hand, and then I used an online tweet buffer app to feed them automatically. I also attempted to sell T-shirts with facts on them, and I hired a coder to build a site. The site is on hold indefinitely.
