Stainless Steel Chess Set

The final design of the pieces for the chess set

I designed and fabricated a chess set from stainless steel. Each piece weighs approximately the same as a US silver dollar coin (38mm). The set stacks inside a square tube. When the pieces settle, they produce a metallic clack similar to stacked coins. One side has a brushed finish. The other side is smooth. The surface treatment is the only distinction between the two sets.
