Nommesen Green
My work treats color as a material, a legal problem, and a perceptual limit. I explore whether a color itself can function as an artwork, not the paint but the distinct identity of a specific hue. To do this, I named my favorite green as Nommesen Geen. The project asks what it means to own, name, or simply see a color.
Method
I started calling my favorite color Nommesen Geen. I decided to use the name of the color each time I use the color itself. I picked #2ee666 for the color not only for the aesthetics but for the look of the hex code.
Concept
I was inspired by Yves Klein, who developed International Klein Blue. But I wanted a pure color, not a paint. My favorite color is green because it is the most complicated color. The human eye has more receptors for green than for any other color. Cameras generally have four color receptors: one for red, one for blue, and two for green.
